No Target No change

 

While attending an event where various businesses serving the property industry were represented, I chatted to a director of one of the many companies represented. He shared which of his team members were responsible for branding strategy, sales strategy, marketing strategy, training strategy etc.

I asked about what Transformation strategy they had in place. “Who”, I queried “was focused on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging?”.

“Oh” he said, “that will happen holistically.”

Hmmm, I don't think so.

In business, without a plan and a target, we are unlikely to achieve our goals. That is why we have strategies.

The director undoubtedly achieved all goals within the company wrt increased sales and increased market share etc. He also achieved his transformation goal. No target, no change.
